I've taken a couple of sewing classes, and I find it so rewarding to start a session with just fabric and end up with a real product. I started with a class on making a tote bag, and then moved up to zippered pouches. Eventually I took a class on dress making, and that was the most gratifying of all. After that class I went on a fabric shopping spree and ended up making a whole new summer wardrobe. Nothing beats cutomized clothing that fits just perfectly.
I have a cheap little sewing machine made by Shark (a vacuum company of all things) that I got at Canadian Tire for $60. I figured this would do me for a while and I'd eventually need to upgrade, But as it turns out, this little machine has all the features that I need so I've stuck with it.
