I earned my bachelor of aerospace engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa. The concentration of my studies was in propulsion and aerodynamics. After graduation, I joined MDA in 2004 in the Space Missions Division in Brampton Ontario. My job was to ensure that the Space Shuttle Canadarm was certified to return to flight after the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster.
Once the Shuttle returned to flight, I was lucky enough to be selected for a 6-month placement at Johnson Space Center in Texas. During this time I attended various NASA reviews and did a two week stint at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
In 2007, I moved from the Brampton office to the Vancouver office, where I worked on the operational control software for the Space Station robotics.
Eventually I transitioned to Satellites, where I was tasked with determining the optimal ground station arrangement for a constellation of earth observing satellites. I also created the environmental requirements for the satellite constellation.
